Bawr Mahn Shardik, better known as Ember, is the daughter of Ress Mahn Shardik and Hamo Agrussi (A'Hamo). She was born in 0052 and raised by Ken and M'Ress. A'Hamo played almost no role in her upbringing after feeling betrayed by M'Ress, who hadn't told him that she had reversed her birth control and was trying to conceive a child.

Ember followed her mother's choice of career as an AI designer. She was at least partly responsible for building Rowan Masters and (FIXME: in one episode we hear that an AI is "a collaboration between... and Bawr Mahn Shardik").

Ken and Ember are occasional lovers. In 136 / 00068 The Kittenin' she asks him to take her virginity on the day before her sixteenth birthday. In 136 / 00152 The Second Kittenin' Ember returns to ask a similar favor when she decides to try anal sex for the first time.
